People love to capture the rain in their pictures but due to the quality of the camera or to save their cameras or phones from rain people are not ready to take their pictures in rainfall and prefer to avoid standing in the drizzling rain.

if you want a photo with a beautiful rain effect without being wet you can create an incredible rain effect in photoshop.

It is easy to create a rain effect in photoshop with these steps:

step 1: Add a new blank layer

Add a new blank layer above the original layer or background layer to keep the original image layer separate from the rain effect layer.

Step 2: Add a render filter

Go to the filter menu choose to render and select the option fiber

Click the fiber option and then you see a fiber menu popup on the screen -> there are two options in the fiber popup variance and strength set both to 64 and then click ok.

change the blend option of the layer from normal to the screen.

step 4: Apply motion blur

go to the filter menu choose the options blur and then click on the motion blur.

you see a motion blur menu popup display on the screen.

in the popup, you see an option for angle and distance. set the angle value at 83 and the distance at 22 pixels and then click ok.

Step 5: Make a smart object

Select the rain layer, on the right side above the layer panel find the menu icon (which is represented as three lines) click on the menu icon and then click on the option to convert to a smart object.

The rain layer has been converted into a smart object.

Step 6: Scale the rain layer

By using motion blur the rain effect doesn’t look right at the top and the bottom.to make it perfect scale the image is mandatory.

To scale the image go to the edit menu > choose transform > click on the scale option.

Set both the width (W) and the tallness (H) within the choices menu to 136% and after that select the checkbox to the correct of the checkbox alternative to adjust both the width and the stature.

To make the rain effect more realistic and make the rain slanting, set the position.

To set the position, go to the edit menu > choose the options transform > and click on the scale. on the options menu, there is an option for x and y.

Set the x and y dimensions to 300 and 404 pixels, respectively, and then select the checkmark option from the settings menu’s right side.

To give the rain a real effect select the rain layer go to the image menu choose the option adjustments and then click on the levels options.

The levels option popout is displayed on the screen after you click the level option.

There are the two options you see on the levels popout input levels and output levels set the input levels there are three boxes set the first box value at 129, the second box value at 1.00, and the last box value at 255.

Set the output levels there are two boxes in the output levels set the first box value at 0 and the second box value at 167.

In the levels set present at custom and the channel at RGB and then click ok.
